Located at 1108 Jefferson St in Old Town Alexandria, the Nannie Lee J Lee Center has so much to offer the community. The center was named in honor of Nannie Jane Carrington Lee, who was a passionate supporter of programs for young people.
The Nannie J. Lee Center features a gymnasium, tennis courts, basketball courts, multi-purpose rooms, reading lounge, crafts room, and a baseball diamond field where little league teams come out to practice and play. The center is home to the administrative offices for the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Cultural Activities, and features an auditorium with seating for 400 and meeting space.
There’s also a playground behind the building with swings, slides, jungle gym, and a merry-go-round. They also offer summer camps and special programs for kids, teens, youths, and adults. The center opens on Monday and Wednesday from 12 pm to 7 pm and on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 12 pm to 6 pm. It is closed on Saturday and Sunday.
